Power of Attorney Authentication The Consulate provides Authentication of powers of attorney, drawn up in the United States to be used in Russia. A power of attorney can be certified on behalf of one or multiple Principals in the name of one or multiple Agents. Authentication of any type of power of attorney requires Principal’s personal appearance at the Consulate. The Consul certifies Principal’s identity and mental competence. The Consulate provides Signature Authentication for documents that don’t conflict with Russian Legislation. During Signature Authentication the Consul certificates identity of an Applicant. Please note that in compliance with Article 80 of the Fundamental Principles of the Russian Federation on Notary, the Consul authenticates the signature only and not credibility of the facts stated in the document.
